Business Assurance Executive
We currently have a new opportunity for a full-time Business Assurance Executive, in our Leeds or Manchester region.
Purpose of the job:
- The Business Assurance Executive will be responsible for planning and conducting Business Assurance Testing (BAT) in line with Business Assurance Framework across the Reward loan book (Asset Finance and Business Finance).
- This will include working with key business stakeholders, helping to remediate issues identified during the BAT and seeking to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
The Work
Accountability and Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly Business Assurance testing across the Reward loan book, including Business Finance and Asset Finance, to assess credit processes and data integrity.
- Execute testing plans in line with the Business Assurance Framework, ensuring accurate documentation and maintenance of testing records.
- Identify, report, and escalate issues or control weaknesses identified during testing activities in a timely manner.
- Carry out ad hoc Business Assurance testing and reviews as requested by the Head of Business Assurance.
- Coordinate external funder audits by providing accurate information and documentation within agreed deadlines.
- Support the Business Assurance Team in responding to audit queries with clear, accurate, and complete information.
- Assist with Policy Effectiveness Reviews to ensure organisational policies remain fit for purpose and are consistently adhered to.
- Conduct sample testing, staff interviews, and policy adherence reviews to assess effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Produce accurate and timely MI reports relating to Business Assurance activities and key risk areas.
- Analyse and model data to assess business practices, identify trends or emerging risks, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend enhancements to business processes, controls, and governance frameworks to strengthen operational effectiveness and compliance.

- Good analytical skills, with the ability to identify key themes and emerging trends.
- Strong communications kills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at levels.
- Time management skills – prioritise work effectively and be able to work under pressure to meet agreed service levels, whilst maintaining high accuracy.
- The ability to work collaboratively and engage with the wider business, key stakeholders and third parties.
- Excellent attention to detail, including the administration, handling and interpretation of data.
- Motivated and solutions driven to improve and facilitate problem solving.
Desirable:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy and tooling. Proven experience using Generative AI (i.e. ChatGPT, Copilot) and Risk Management tools to automate data extraction and support Business Assurance activities. Ability to craft structured prompt engineering to interrogate large datasets or summarise documentation efficiently.
- Previous experience in an Internal Audit or Quality Assurance (QA) role, preferably in a Financial Services organisation.
- Experience in property-backed lending, or a broader asset-based lending background.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
Requirements
- You may be required to travel for client visits, attend events and other Reward Funding offices – these may include an overnight stay.
