Hendrewen Hotel is a landmark hospitality project aimed at bringing new investment, employment and visitor growth to the northern Rhondda Valley in South Wales. Led by experienced property investor Martin Roberts, the redevelopment will transform the site into a themed hotel and gastropub destination, supporting the area’s growing appeal to walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers. The project has already secured strong backing from local councils and both the Welsh and UK governments.

Funding Requirement

Martin Roberts required funding to support the ongoing refurbishment of the former hotel and pub in Blaencwm, at the top of the Rhondda Valley. The redevelopment aims to restore a well-known part of the local community while bringing new investment, employment opportunities and visitor growth to the area.

Finance Solution

We provided a flexible drawdown facility, enabling funds to be accessed as required throughout the redevelopment. The structure ensured funding remained aligned to project demand, supporting the refurbishment process while helping to manage costs effectively.

It is also creating opportunities for young people to gain practical on-site experience and supporting local tradespeople throughout the redevelopment.
